Traditional Craft Kanazawa-Mizuhiki : Paper-cord art
Kanazawa is well known as a place for making traditional cords. The name, Mizuhiki, indicates the process of making crafts: knotting dyed cords of rice paper into various aesthetic forms.
Mizuhiki has been used as a decoration for wedding gifts in Japan. This long-established shop over 40 years is located near the Oyama Jinja shrine.
A skilled craftswoman will show you each process, and the workshop takes just 60 minutes.
